OFFICIAL STATEMENT: Stop the War!

OFFICIAL STATEMENT: Stop the War!

“Wars do not make one great.” – Master Yoda

We do not support any actions by anyone that lead to war – the suffering and death of innocent people.

Over the history of this planet, wars have never solved any problems. Wars are the problem.

These colossal resources could have been spent to greatly improve lives, not end or cripple them.

As an international metal band with a global audience and friends worldwide – including Ukraine – we stand for peace, unity and freedom, everywhere and for everyone.

The separation of people and countries breaks everything we live for.

Our music has and always will be about bringing people together, not separating them.

Stop the war!

No innocent lives should be taken.
    I am against war.
From one who was born to a grandmother who was saddened by the loss of her family’s lives in the war.

If you have fought in a war (yes, I have) you will come to understand just how devastatingly destructive it is, no matter the rationale or excuse for it…..it achieves no good at all but feed the madness and egos, it seems, of “leaders” with mostly power driven agendas who initiate aggression, whether personal or “nationalistic”. The death, destruction and fracturing of Families, Societies and Economies comes at a cost too devastating to contemplate and is totally unjustifiable….there is simply no excusing or justifying it.

I applaud your public stance Imperial Age, I really do….respect.

Is great to see that there are Russians who know reality and wish for peace. Hope it will end soon.
    Thank you, Andrej Slovakia

Q: How do you change an aryian from a warrior to a pacifist?
    A: Fight back.

Love your hair, love your clothes, love your show!
And always appreciate your freedom of speech.

    Thank you for your statement.
It gave me back some of my faith in humanity. We must fight for the preservation of our common earth, not for the glory of dictators!

    Hello Imperial Age,
I found your statement on the war in Ukraine absolutely appropriate and extremely courageous. Unfortunately, Vladimir Putin is a dictator who could have trained with Stalin, Mussolini and Hitler. You can no longer live in peace and quiet in Russia. The risk is too high for honest and courageous people like you. The situation is also very difficult for the Russian people to bear. What are you supposed to do personally when the State Security punishes every deviation from the dictator’s course immediately and severely. I hope that the truth will also come to light in Russia and that the decent Russian people will get rid of the brutal ruling clique.

It certainly wasn’t easy for you to have to leave your home country, but it’s good that you’re safe now. I wish you all the best and hope to see you in Weinheim in September.

    Nice greetings from Germany

    Gilbert

Thanks for your clear thought and public post, Imperial Age. This is very important for me, and I will not forget it. In my opinion, heavy metal above all should teach to us precisely this thing: to think with our own heart and brain, and oppose the power when it crushes the human freedom.

It is perfectly fine for musicians to condemn war and stay neutral, but so should all external powers – Putin is responding to an aggregation of little threats to the security of Russia in its own back yard – the external interference that changed Ukraine’s government to one more western-inclined, the arming of Ukraine by NATO, etc. If you poke a bear enough times, it will eventually react Putin is just reacting in an old-fashioned way – to get Ukraine back into Russia’s sphere. NATO has lied about expansion ever since the end of the Soviet era in Europe – why should Putin trust that NATO would not make Ukraine the new front line?

    • Silenz

Wrong, its not the western states who are tryingto influence others, its Putin. He is the one who has a malign influence on many states, here in Germany with the Nazi party AfD and he even conspired to bring the disastrous Trump to power in the US.

This man is a danger to the world and I hope he will be stopped.

      • Stefan

Of course, Russia tries to influence other countries. Every government does so. But the USA’s spending on international security service activities, transatlantic thinktanks and so-called nongovernment organisations to achieve regime changes exceed similar spendings of the whole rest of the world.
Russia’s influence on American traditional and social media is negligeable, even if bots where used. So the accusation of Russia having brought Trump into power is ridiculous.

  • Andy

Thank you, Imperial Age, for your statement. Many other Russians are also against this war. Music of all sorts can and does unite peoples around the world, so keep playing, Imperial Age, and show that. НСт Π’ΠΎΠΉΠ½Π΅

The band that captured my interest in symphonic metal, captures my heart by professing their humanity and bravery to speak.

Thank you so much! I can only imagine that even this simple statement could bring you guys some trouble in Russia, so for you as Russians it is very courageous to condemn this act of violence against Ukraine!

  • Olivier LEGENTIL

    Hi ,
    Thank you for your position.
yes this guy is just a professional liar and a filthy dictator.
I hope this war will not prevent you from living. We know that part of the Russian people do not follow this cynical character.
    Good luck, really.

Putin and his governments have been confirmed by the people in several elections. Until recently his leadership was well-considered and the response to western provocations have always been adequate or even quite mild. But the recent attack is very risky for all who are involved or responsible. It may lead to larger transformations in Russia than in the Ukraine.

Be safe. Music is not political and never should be. 🀟🏻❀️❀️🀟🏻🀟🏻🀟🏻

    Hello,

Thanks very much for your statement. It’s incredible that in these times one person called Putin can stay acting as a dictator. Only one solution, eliminate this person as fast as possible. Such a person is not a leader, but a stupid idiot that should be placed in a Madhouse.

War has a more complicated process than it looks. Those who live in “western” societies, such as the G7, will find Putin bad according to the government’s propaganda, and those with a little more information must say that Ukrainians are sorry. On the other hand, Russians may have different ideas and feelings. However, Imperial Age is a band that sings about peace and hope, so stay away from politics and give good music and a message. Thank you for your statement. Humans have always wanted to be separated from animals. We may have evolved from apes, but there is something uniquely human and that is reason. But even animals show some reasoning. What can set us apart is enlightenment. Survival of the fittest is the way of the Animal kingdom, but reasoning will tell us is that leads eventually to extinction. We are already on the brink where there is no return. The Human race will become the shortest-lived species on this planet. We are a mere 4 million years old. We won’t make it to 5. We were given a better way. Survival of All. That is where enlightenment lies. That is where the Human race becomes its own kingdom. War is contrary to enlightenment. War continues to define us as animals. I remember at your live concert in December a statement you made that your music was about peace. I am proud to have supported you on this latest journey.

Thank you so much for condemning this senseless act we as musicians and citizens of the world need to take a stand against corrupt politicians I am writing an album of this could use some serious musicians to help. War is outdated and obsolete and so are the ways of politicians we must take a stand now!!!πŸ”₯🀘😎πŸ”₯

      I agree

      Stop the war

I am glad there are Russians who don’t agree with this madness

      Well Dome Imperial Age

Putin wants to force the Ukraine to become a neutral country like it was before the coup d’etat in 2014. Without interference it will become a serious threat for the RF, eather as a member or as a close ally of the NATO and armed by the west. So he sees this attack as a kind of a preventive war.

  • Chris. Owen

God bless you all. It’s not the people, it’s the politicians that cause the problems and wars. We need more female leaders – like Jacinda Ardern in New Zealand with her loads of commonsense and humanity . . . things that seem to have disappeared from this World. Good luck!!

A wise Doctor once said Hate is always foolish and Love is always wise. Maybe the whole world should listen to the Doctor because those words carry more truth in them than any propaganda ever will. Peace is by far more better than war ever will be.

  • Naryselim

Also both sides are equally to blame. No matter what the outcome the individuals that started it will still find some way to make themselves look better and gain better political standing from it. They do not have to witness the horrors first hand. The Western Politicians have done nothing to ease the situayion, the sanctions only serve to force the issue. Of course having a good diversion is always useful to keep the public from focusing on issues at home. I do not trust any of them.

I had to copy and paste this from a text editor, I could not type directly in to the text box. This may be because I am using a mobile phone, the browsers sometimes break this kind of input, where it is fine on a computer. However the name and email address fields worked fine. Maybe this can be of use to who does the website.

    • Naryselim

Actually, I now realise it is the gray font on a white background, which is difficult to see. The input is working perfectly, after all.

There is a quote: “The only thing we learn from history is that we don’t learn from history.” Putin invading Ukraine reminds one of Hitler invading Poland….
