Biography (short)
Founded in Moscow by singers/songwriters Alexander “Aor” Osipov and Jane “Corn” Odintsova in 2012, IMPERIAL AGE has become Russia’s most famous symphonic metal band and the country’s second most-internationally-touring rock act, achieving acclaim from fans, press and even the founder of symphonic metal – Christofer Johnsson (Therion) – himself.
In 2016 – 2019 the band has toured Europe 4 times, with a total of 103 concerts (out of those 38 as headliners).
Musically, IMPERIAL AGE combine heavy metal with a symphony orchestra, folk instruments, 3 lead singers (1 male and 2 female) and a full choir.
The records feature multiple collaborations with musicians from DIMMU BORGIR, RHAPSODY OF FIRE, THERION, ARKONA and the Moscow Conservatory Chamber Choir.
Lyrically, the band deals with the idea of ancient prehistoric advanced civilizations (Atlantis, Hyperborea, Lemuria) and their legacy in the form of the Western Magical Tradition (Hermetism, Kabbalah etc.) carried through history by secret societies and magical orders (Orphism, Templars, Rosenkreuz, Freemasons, Golden Dawn etc).

Music Sales – Physical
Our strongly dedicated fans buy on average 1 000 Eur worth of music monthly (mostly CDs and so far not reported to SoundScan because we are independent) directly from our online music store. This does not include worldwide distribution by Sound Pollution and digital sales & streaming (see further below).
We have sold a total of 7000 CDs up to this date (Oct 2019), 4000 of which were sold in 2019.
Most sales come from the UK (~50%), USA (~20%), Germany (~20%) and the Netherlands (~10%).

We are an independent band. All of the above has been done without any record labels.
That said, we have a distribution deal with Sound Pollution / Black Lodge Records (IN FLAMES, SABATON) for the world and a licencing deal with Rubicon Music (URIAH HEEP, DORO, HOLY MOSES) for Japan. Previously, physical music was distributed by Adulruna Records (owned by Christofer Johnsson of THERION, with Sound Pollution as their distributor).
Alexander and Jane personally own all the rights for the music & masters and are open to mutually beneficial deals.

As of 2019, IMPERIAL AGE have released 2 studio albums and 1 EP.
The records feature multiple collaborations with musicians from DIMMU BORGIR, RHAPSODY OF FIRE, THERION, ARKONA and the Moscow Conservatory Chamber Choir. All artwork by Jan Yrlund (MANOWAR). Mixing and mastering by Sergei Lazar (ARKONA).
Touring
We have toured Europe 4 times, totalling 106 concerts in 3 years and going from an opening band in 2016 to midact in 2018 to headliner in 2019.
