We still can’t really believe it… This Saturday we had our most successful event so far. We pulled a virtual arena and received 11,477 USD from our fans. We played all around the globe, even in Antarctica! But it was completely, totally unexpected.
It all started with the lockdown and our UK tour getting postponed to September. We hadn’t played for a year since the previous tour, and we really wanted to go on stage and see our fans.
So Aor had this crazy idea – what if we play an online concert, but not the standard acoustic-guitar-from-your-couch type – but a fully produced, plugged show with stage sound & light? And he decided to make it free for all, as opposed to selling tickets, and just have a donation button.
Natalie Cherry and Belf did a tremendous job in organizing the event, which involved a crew of 16 people and costed us 2,600 USD. We rehearsed for a month (the band had to acquire special working passes to travel during the lockdown) and since we could not travel with public transport, Paul, Aor and Jane had to drive the entire band across the entire megalopolis because all rehearsal places are closed – except one or two. The last three rehearsals were 6 hours each.
Our most optimistic expectation was that we would recoup the show and earn just a little bit on top.
However, the results of the concert literally blew us away, and we are still in shock from what has happened.
The only thing we can say is that we LOVE ALL OF YOU SO MUCH. WE ARE EXTREMELY GRATEFUL TO YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT. WE ARE AND WILL BE DOING OUR BEST TO JUSTIFY YOUR TRUST IN US. THANK YOU SO FUCKING MUCH!!!! 🙏🙏🙏
P.S. If someone tells you that Symphonic Metal (or Metal in general) is dead, or that you need tons of money or connections or a record label to achieve success – just show them this and say: “ALL YOU NEED IS YOUR FANS!!!”
